Web developer/programmer wanted

The Web Team at C4 Tech & Design is accepting applications for an additional web developer/programmer.

The right candidate will be excellent at problem solving, standardization, communication, and database-driven PHP/CMS solutions. We are primarily a PHP shop--almost all of our internal products use LAMP--and we have a desire to keep things that way to facilitate skill cross over. However, we often get requests for a variety of languages, so we are also looking for candidates who are aggressive self-educators and possess a diverse skill set.

The appropriate candidate will be a well-rounded team player, with plenty of experience working closely with designers and other developers. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are very important. Additionally, experience with project management, customer service, and cooperative workplaces is ideal.

This is a full-time position ideal for someone with a flexible work schedule - while we have no set hours, we have monthly weekend meetings and occasionally work unconventional hours as our projects dictate. Additionally, since we all come to this company from a freelancing background, you must provide your own hardware and software.

Development Experience

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and has the ability to work on tasks, activities, and projects with minimum supervision. The right applicant would also follow guidelines set up within the company, but would be willing to bring new knowledge and processes to the table.

Specific qualifications include:

* Demonstrable experience working with a LAMP setup
* Demonstrable experience with Drupal or alternate PHP CMS (such as WordPress or Joomla!)
* Ability to create scale-sensitive solutions and plan for future client success
* Passion for usability
* Some experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator

As a bonus, you have some experience with:

* Working on the command line
* Mobile app development (iPhone, Android and/or Blackberry)
* Flash / Action Script 3
* JavaScript
* AJAX / dynamic HTML
* SQL Databases (MySQL/PHPMyAdmin)
* Server Management (Linux)
* E-commerce
* DNS records
* Security certificate management
* VB for ASP.net

C4 is a worker-owned cooperative that has been in business for over eight years in the greater New Orleans area, offering computer support, graphic and website design and production services, with a focus on implementing open source technologies. We have had our own office and shop on Oak St for over three years.
